Why? Because Patreon is the best model we’ve come up with so far for supporting independent artists in a sustainable way. For as little as $1 a month you can get access to all the music I make, and as a thank you gift I’m throwing in a free copy of my book. That’s about a $75 value. With Patreon you get to hear the music first…we take this musical journey together and from that I get some stability. I know that there are a group of supportive people out there who are listening to my music and want me to create more. It’s a really great system. We all win.

Somebody, Somewhere

Tim Cheesebrow

In cart Not available Out of stock

“Tim Cheesebrow’s voice is both gentle and strong, vulnerable and confident in his album, Somebody, Somewhere, a delicately unassuming collection of songs which take their time and are a fine example of what can result when music is allowed to be molded carefully, crafted by hand, and guided by heart.

This is a solid Americana/country-rock album.”

Bio

“It’s hard to not be happy when you’re listening to Tim Cheesebrow–and easy to remember the things that matter most.”
– Peter Mayer

He took the stage in his first performance wearing a shiny blue shirt and top hat, belting some Tom Petty song under the big lights for all he was worth…after feeling that rush there was no going back. Tim started writing songs at 15 as a way to make sense of the world. He studied the craft in earnest while getting his degree in classical music composition, and cemented his style while volunteering at a monastery and school near New Orleans. 20 years later and he’s still at it, playing over 120 shows per year. He now has six full-length solo albums under his belt, a published book on songwriting, and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Tim’s music layers an eclectic mix of styles to create a sound with modern grooves, catchy melodies, and a sense of being grounded in deep roots. He’s known for his percussive guitar work, capo-wizardry, and an expressive voice big enough to fill any room.

Tim’s lyrics are heartfelt and honest, bringing audiences with him to explore concepts of family, self-doubt, depression, hope, grief, and the many facets of love. He looks to music as a source of healing and puts that magic to work at each performance so listeners leave with more than they expected to find. Tim’s calm and passionate presence, combined with his thoughtful songcraft, make him a favorite of intimate listening rooms.

Songwriting for Wellness

Workshops and Classes

www.songwritingforwellness.com

We are in the middle of a mental health crisis. As a nation we are just beginning to understand the magnitude of the problem, but are struggling to find ways to address it. Songwriting is a tool we can provide for people right now to help them cope. They can develop a vocabulary and process to articulate what’s going on inside them. They can share their thoughts and feelings with peers, parents, teachers, friends, and advocate for their needs by communicating critical messages in a safe and healthy way. It’s not an intervention that requires a diagnosis. It’s a tool for self expression that EVERY person can benefit from. It’s fun. It’s a healthy way to express yourself. It helps you feel better…and it’s highly effective. Learning this process empowers them to act as their own healers. Songwriting is a mode of self-administered therapy they can apply whenever and however often they need to. Once they learn how to write songs to promote their own wellness, they have a tool they can carry with them their entire lives.

GUEST ARTIST

An unforgettable experience where Tim  writes a song with the class/group. In a single period, students are guided through the songwriting process and participates in a group sing-along of their song. A professional recording is made available online at no charge.

FULL COURSE

For maximum impact and student learning, Tim will partner with district staff to provide a full-term class aligned with state standards in Fine Arts.

RESIDENCE

A truly powerful series of 12 visits where students are encouraged to dig deep and (with guidance) write their own songs as they learn about music theory, rhythm, rhyme, musical structure, storytelling, and self expression.

CONCERT

Tim walks students, song by song, through a journey that demonstrates the bond between creative expression and mental health.

Lift Bridge - 4/5/2019

I'm really looking forward to playing some tunes at Lift Bridge Brewery
Lift Bridge is one of Minnesota's staple breweries. They've got some great IPA's and Stouts that have become required pouring at any serious craft brew house and also show off their fun side with seasonal beers that incorporate interesting flavors.

The taproom is amazing. Lots of custom wood furniture made by local woodworking artisan Charlie Joy at The Big Red Chair

“You Will Never Walk Alone is so well crafted and warmly produced that I almost forgot to review it the first time around. The underlying sentiment of the song is beautiful, valuable and important. The song has depth and is reflective in an honest and emotionally human sort of way. That meeting of the professional side of music making and the open, authentic side of being an artist has been really well captured. Tim Cheesebrow has written a great song and it’s highly likely that the rest of the Somebody, Somewhere album will
follow suit.”
- Rebecca Cullen, Stereo Stickman Review
