I’m very excited to be playing this series that takes place at University Baptist Church in Dinkytown!
This is going to be a stripped-down concert, an intimate presentation of some of my best songs and the stories behind them.
This concert will also be the stage debut of a brand-new song! Come join me on Feb 3rd for a night of great music!
CD Release party time! This one is going to be so very cool. I decided to go full-on nerd and schedule the show at Como Planetarium. It’s going to be so cool playing tunes while a star show is going on overhead! Don’t miss it. There are only 60 seats, and when they’re gone, they’re gone.
This spectacular event pairs great singer/songwriter folk-rock music with the beauty and wonder of the cosmos. Celebrating the release of Tim Cheesebrow’s album, “Somebody, Somewhere,” songs from the album will be played along with a star show in the amazing Como Planetarium. This will be a night to remember!
This unique setting was chosen because in addition to being a musician, Tim is a cosmology enthusiast, and passionate educator. Como Planetarium is owned and operated by St. Paul Public Schools. He wanted to support the planetarium’s goals of educating and inspiring people to marvel at the universe. There will be an opportunity to learn more about their activities and Tim’s work in the schools.
Tim has been coined a “critically acclaimed Minnesota favorite” by Northfield News; Tim has captivated audiences for 20 years with his smooth, soulful vocals and fresh, percussive guitar work. He’s a true craftsman, his eclectic songwriting style across 4 full-length solo albums delivers a variety of memorable melodies and meaningful lyrics that keep listeners coming back for more.
Performing songwriter Matthew Griswold, made the transition from US Army Soldier to Professional Songwriter/Musician in 2008 and has been going full force ever since. After a short stint in Nashville and quickly securing a publishing deal with Universal Music, Matthew headed home to Minnesota and returned “for good” to his native land while he began to write and record songs for Film and TV projects.
Brad invited me back to Essential Sessions Studios to do a little acoustic project. We decided to record some tunes off of “Somebody, Somewhere” and a few new ones, but to skip all the fancy production and just make an unplugged album that’s more like a live show…just me and my guitar.
Most of the tunes are played with a slower groove and the whole album is nice and mellow.
We also played around with recording techniques, using vintage gear, recording to tape, manually configured echoes and reverbs using studio equipment instead of computer plugins. It’s raw, it’s simple, it’s as bare bones as you get.
Part of a concert and conversation series pairing inspirational music, education on social issues, and meaningful community action.
Guest speaker for the night is State Representative Jamie Becker-Finn. A lawyer by trade, this passionate legislator will help us understand which way the wind is blowing at the capitol and what we, normal citizens, can do to bring about meaningful change.
It is my dream to teach children the value of living a creative life, and help them use music to express themselves in a positive way. Funding for the arts in public schools has been in decline for some time and I don’t want to see kids miss out on amazing learning opportunities because of it. Here’s where we can help each other out.
For every milestone we reach on this patreon page, I will work to schedule a songwriting workshop each month with a school in need absolutely free of charge to them! This means everyone gets equal opportunity, and budgets are not a barrier.
You get downloads of any album I’ve made or will make in the future, including the latest release “Somebody, Somewhere.” You will get access to a video library of lessons, new songs, and other resources as I create them. Becoming a patron means that you are directly supporting my creative work in a sustainable way so I can spend less time trying to sell music and more time writing and recording new music. You also get to help fund music in schools on an ongoing basis, and suggest where we hold the workshops. Each month there will be kids directly benefiting from your patronage.
