Part of a concert and conversation series pairing inspirational music, education on social issues, and meaningful community action.
Guest speaker for the night is State Representative Jamie Becker-Finn. A lawyer by trade, this passionate legislator will help us understand which way the wind is blowing at the capitol and what we, normal citizens, can do to bring about meaningful change.
It is my dream to teach children the value of living a creative life, and help them use music to express themselves in a positive way. Funding for the arts in public schools has been in decline for some time and I don’t want to see kids miss out on amazing learning opportunities because of it. Here’s where we can help each other out.
For every milestone we reach on this patreon page, I will work to schedule a songwriting workshop each month with a school in need absolutely free of charge to them! This means everyone gets equal opportunity, and budgets are not a barrier.
You get downloads of any album I’ve made or will make in the future, including the latest release “Somebody, Somewhere.” You will get access to a video library of lessons, new songs, and other resources as I create them. Becoming a patron means that you are directly supporting my creative work in a sustainable way so I can spend less time trying to sell music and more time writing and recording new music. You also get to help fund music in schools on an ongoing basis, and suggest where we hold the workshops. Each month there will be kids directly benefiting from your patronage.

Adam Levy is regarded by many to be one of the great American songwriters of his era. Levy is probably best known for his nearly 20 years of work as lead singer-songwriter for The Honeydogs. Levy’s songwriting has always been musically expansive, exploring styles as diverse as American roots music, psychedelia, soul, world, jazz, and classical music. His lyrics have always been thoughtful, literary and provocative, and have garnered him international critical accolades and fans. Adam’s wry wit and incisive lyrics are wrapped inside layers of deceptively beautiful melodies and hooks that have come to life with his signature great guitar work. Paste Magazine once said Levy’s songwriting captured “the zeitgeist of our time.”
There is no limit to No Grass Limit. This 5-piece band was formed in June of 2011, and they were only 4 months into the process of playing together when they took 1st place at the MBOTMA (Minnesota Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association) Race for a Place band contest. Ranging from bluegrass, folk, americana, gospel and traditional music No Grass Limit puts on an electric performance that you will not want to miss. Members include award winning duet, songwriters and owners of Lesson Pros, Chuck and Sandi Millar, 3 time MN Flatpicking Champion Clint Birtzer, the nicest guy you will ever meet and plays a heck of a banjo Mike Hedding, and the gal that holds it all together on bass is Vaughn Asselstine.
All in all a fantastic night and it will be so good to spend it with supportive friends and family.
I just couldn’t wait until the CD release show to share some of the songs we’ve been working on!
Take a listen, enjoy, and join No Grass Limit, Adam Levy, and I for a wonderful night of music at The Cedar Cultural Center
